It was quite a big challenge when i decided to choose as part of committee, i was struggling a bit from my preferred group: EVENT. i like organising things and happy to help out with others, so i might think committee might be another good choice for me to start with.

in the first step of being an committee, we have to decide the theme for whole seminar.

Now  i fee like how important the voting is in terms of choosing the three final themes. we have been voted the three of them we liked the most. and then we would vote for the top 3 one. this is quite fun process, because you can imagined that which one would be the popular one that the idea came from our committee. ITS A GOOD START !!

QUALITY (Products)

Triple constraints: It depends on the MONEY & TIME & PERFORMANCE (teamwork & skill & commitment)

If speed up the project, we can get more people to do or get more money

Identify process stages

1. scope/initiate

  • identify the deliverable/quality
  • how are we going to do it in the time, within budget?
  • resources (people/equipment)
  • identify milestones (key timelines—contract)

–design specification

–interface design

–wire frame

–user trial

–completion (live web site)

2. design/plan  (production schedule )

Work breakdown structure

–identify every task associated with the project

–determine the length of time for each task

–order them to the process phases.

Task Week1 Week2 Week3
Script outline
Specify assets
Search assets

WORKFLOW

It needs to relates to the each task and time in terms of the workflow

Assign resources to each task

–who is doing what (team)

–equipment

–materials

–identify cots to crate the overall budget

3.  implement/build

4.  evaluate/review/test

breakdown the project into the identify process stages again and again.

Small project: in the identify process

But for the large scale project, Rather than build it all and test, its better to test it first, and come back to the scope and depends on the client.

SOFTWARE:

MS EXCEL

MS PROJECT

Here are some stuff have came up with our mind. In terms of sleeping. we need have 7-8 hours to achieve the energy recovery. the number of hours spent on sleeping is negotiable. Getting enough sleep can make you fell refreshing and happy. Therefore. we are aiming to sell the idea of how great the sleeping is. therefore. we came up with the idea of “dreaming” we decide to use the idea of “dreaming “to expand the campaign. How to use the dream to effect the people around us? how to make other people know about how great the dreaming is? we decide to use a physical campaign to persuade the ideas. Here is the idea of “dream vending machine” we are thinking to allocate all the dreams from all over the world, and then to share their dreams with us.

There are some benefits that using vending machine as a campaign tool:

  • physical stand in city campus. easy to notice and interact with.
  • different categories with dreams. can give audience more choice to choose their preferred dreams to share.
  • text into visual. we aim to transfer the dream text into visual graphics.

Allocating ideas

We have done so many brainstorming about the what we are going to do with the campaign. The initial idea was the music therapy for the stress students and staff in RMIT. but after that, we realised that it wouldn’t work during the uni time. because it would take a long time  in terms of the preparation. So we started to think about other ideas. We start to think about: what is the hot topic nowadays. we started to focus on the youth theme. We brainstormed a lot of youth issues in terms of the alcoholic and drugs, study pressure, stay up late, depression, self-esteem issue, time management and over rely on technology. Finally, we settled down the topic of staying up late. it is related to the well being and mental health issue in nowadays. We are aiming to help those people who has trouble in sleeping. However, there are two reasons why staying up late. one is you choose to not to sleep early, and another one is you cannot fall asleep easily. We chose to the reason is ” you choose not to sleep early”

Once we have settled down the topics. We start doing a lot of research on the why people staying up late. there are some reasons we have came up with:

  • playing too much games on mobile devices on bed
  • thinking too much about work and study
  • supper (snacks)
  • procrastination
  • social networks
  • video call with friends and families.
  • no self-control
  • movies/dramas/series

This is a big progress for us to analysis the reason behind the story
