Tweet Dreams

We have faced with a problem about the lack of dream tweets. We have quite a lot promotion in terms of the Facebook interpretation and the posters. We found out that there is a such a long process of building up a campaign, and especially that sharing dreams are not a easy as sharing your receipts online. We realised that the dream is normally lasts for 10 minutes, and people would not think about our dream vending campaign after they wake up, because we still have no big influence on other people’s life. Therefore, Here is the Plan B, as we researched on the dreams online, we found out the illustrators are actually doing the similar things as we do at the moment. There are illustrating the dreams from people’s tweets. We emailed the illustrator and ask for the permission of using their illustration to help promoting our campaign. They are also quite interested in our project and happy for that we are using their works as long as providing name credit (as Ellen Beall Dubreuil) for the illustrations & maintaining the copyright. GOOD START!! ImageImage

As a part of committee, it is different from other teams, they are only have to finish by one seminar. but for us, we need to keep the continuity until the last week of the semester. this is tough but definitely a new experience for me to learn more from it. everyone has their own task. i am in charge of the social media and promotion side. i am not a good designer so Wennie was taking the role of the designing part. I have done some social media projects in second year. we did quite good job in terms of promoting our campaign. Hope the promotion part would be alright for me. after during few times of the event page, i found out that i have some grammatical issues, and i know it is not a good impression for people to see our posts. therefore, so i double-checked most of the posts afterwards. Here are some of the strategies that i found out in terms of the Facebook promotion

  • posts 4 posts everyday, around 11am, 1pm, 6pm, and 10pm. those are the peak time for people to check their Facebook.
  • posting some showreel and works from the guest. this is a good way for the students to acknowledge our guest a bit more before the seminar. and also it gives us a reference of making our own showreel and website.
  • “LIVE” posting. I would post something happened in the seminar in terms of the atmosphere, the tasty food, decorations, etc. make other people come if they were hesitating before.
  • share the status or photos from the seminar group, they might have some updates for the seminar. so we can track them with some more useful infos
  • share their posters and promo video at the first post. they might have a lot of posters in the media building, but still cannot attract other students from other courses. they might also interested in this seminar. therefore, it is always a good way to have their posters around the status.

I am quite interested in working in television industry, their guests are covered by the producer, TV series director and also the Channel 10 Presenter. They have covered a lot of questions inside the Television industry which gives me a lot of knowledge of how to do better not only your academic knowledge. It gives me a lot of encouragement to face with the career.

There are a lot of stuff i have learned through the guest speaking.

  • Try to get more works to do and you can get more experience on the tv station, don’t complain about how tough the work it, its time to learn.
  • You really need to go somewhere for the resourcingGet more experience
  • take the opportunities: don’t think you have no qualify to do ityou need to make the decision. You got nothing to loss
  • Be out of your comfort zone, its ok to feel insecure. Keep pushing yourself that you can do it better
  • Director: Specific Vision for what you want to say and tell, be able to communicate it.Producer: find a solution rather than the problem, find the way through.

Narrator: Telling the story and interested in other people’s stories.

  • There are a lot of personalities in the television industry. I think the hardest thing is to  JUST DO IT

Guests (appropriate to networking & career development)

Emma Freeman: Director

Chris bendall: Producer

Poster Issues

  •  We have printed out about 120 posters, we decide to post separately in a week time, the first place we have considered was HUB and building8, 10, 12. The reason we didnt concern about the Builidng 9 in a minute was that there were so many posters on the wall already and it wouldnt give enough attention to our poster, Such a waste. Therefore, we went for HUB, building 8, 10,12 and building80 first. We located most of the posters in each level lecture room, most of the students would see the posters when await for the next lecture. We get proved from Hub and stamped the posters on the event wall which was quite catching. After one day, we checked out the posters, most of them are taken off by the cleaners in the cafeteria area. the most strange thing is that we posted the poster in building 80, in each level, there is a main area for the posters, we thought this might be a good place to post, but posters are all gone. if that is a poster area, what is the matter of posting the posters?  Luckily, We found out some very good spot in building 9 can post one set in the same area. We were so happy and said that finally there is a spot for our posters. We got quite a lot positive response from it which is awesome!!
