MI2 Self Reflection

Through this whole semester, I found out that you are not waiting for the task, but learning to find out the task. in terms of the committee role, it might not have too many distribution including the guest inviting, seminar organising, and big team work. but rather than as a support for each one of the seminar. and help out what they need and what to promote. I think i cannot be defined as a good committee, because i have more passion to work with more people. even though that we did a such a great job as a whole committee team which was quite appreciated. However, this is a such a amazing experience for me to finish my third year uni life.

• Learn how to work as a small team, we need to know that what exactly things we are doing and how.
• We need to know what kind of role we need to present in front of the media students. we are committee, so we should know exactly what things they need to prepare for us after the seminar and also how to upload the video via our fresh meat official channel on YouTube.
• In the social media side, we need to ensure that whether they have individual Facebook page, and expose it out, and get more people to know about it.
• in terms of the teamwork, we need to compromise sometimes when we faced with some issues happened around us. there is no way for to us to argue about the questions, but to deal with the question efficiently.

There are still have a lot of things that i still have to learn from this process:

• Organisational skill. I was thinking that i can be a very good organiser when i did some projects before. In this time,  Bianca was in charge of the organising, i would not able to put it out. she is a very well organiser, and i also have learned a lot from her. can say that listening is good way of learning as well.
• Getting involved: in this semester, i was quite busy with my uni projects and also outside projects. so i have to say that i could pay more effort on it.
• Connecting more with other group members: I cannot say that i am not a good communicator, but i don’t like to talk to people via Facebook. I am more likely to face to face talking. therefore, i did not have too many interactions with other group via Facebook page, rather than i chose to talk to them directly if i have any questions from them.

This is such a new experience for me as a committee, and i would love to do more in my future career.

MI2 Reflection #3

In terms of the Seminar Participation, I have been to the most of seminars except one that i missed out. This is quite important for the committee that if they need us for any help. We need to help them as much as we can. I helped few seminars with their preparation of the event and also the pack up. feeling satisfied with helping out.

there is no any exact things we need to do as a committee, but i just tried my best to do anything that i can. from the beginning of the poster design, i helped Wennie with the designing. this is quite stressful work for her because those posters would put on the media building for the whole semester. it is quite important to have eye-catching posters for the media students. HERE COME TO OUR MEAT POSTERS.

In our “Committee”Facebook page, I always want to be more active on the page. i think i did quite a good job in terms of the interaction with my group members. I was always willing to take the responsible.

MI2 Reflection #2

As a part of committee, it is different from other teams, they are only have to finish by one seminar. but for us, we need to keep the continuity until the last week of the semester. this is tough but definitely a new experience for me to learn more from it. everyone has their own task. i am in charge of the social media and promotion side. i am not a good designer so Wennie was taking the role of the designing part. I have done some social media projects in second year. we did quite good job in terms of promoting our campaign. Hope the promotion part would be alright for me. after during few times of the event page, i found out that i have some grammatical issues, and i know it is not a good impression for people to see our posts. therefore, so i double-checked most of the posts afterwards. Here are some of the strategies that i found out in terms of the Facebook promotion

• posts 4 posts everyday, around 11am, 1pm, 6pm, and 10pm. those are the peak time for people to check their Facebook.
• posting some showreel and works from the guest. this is a good way for the students to acknowledge our guest a bit more before the seminar. and also it gives us a reference of making our own showreel and website.
• “LIVE” posting. I would post something happened in the seminar in terms of the atmosphere, the tasty food, decorations, etc. make other people come if they were hesitating before.
• share the status or photos from the seminar group, they might have some updates for the seminar. so we can track them with some more useful infos
• share their posters and promo video at the first post. they might have a lot of posters in the media building, but still cannot attract other students from other courses. they might also interested in this seminar. therefore, it is always a good way to have their posters around the status.

MI2 Reflection #1

It was quite a big challenge when i decided to choose as part of committee, i was struggling a bit from my preferred group: EVENT. i like organising things and happy to help out with others, so i might think committee might be another good choice for me to start with.

in the first step of being an committee, we have to decide the theme for whole seminar.

Now  i fee like how important the voting is in terms of choosing the three final themes. we have been voted the three of them we liked the most. and then we would vote for the top 3 one. this is quite fun process, because you can imagined that which one would be the popular one that the idea came from our committee. ITS A GOOD START !!
