Social Media

We are all not good at social networking. so we are lack of posting the posts in our official website. We need to get more contents to build up our campaign but also strengthen our brand personality and keep the colour panel in every single images. This is super hard for us to do it. Because we dont have a specific social media plan for that. Everything turns out to be lighter when we got more likes and people like our campaign. Therefore, we keep recording what we have done and also the process of dreamvending.

Through four days campaign. Dream vending Team did a fantastic job. I have collected some feedbacks from the uni students and staff.
* This is such a cool idea, i dont have dream at the moment, can i share my dream via your twitter or facebook?
* what does those mascots mean? they are so cute!!
* I just love your campaign concept, keep working on with it.
* is there any way that i can get a plush toy or t-shirt?
* thanks, thats so sweet, it definitely made my day
* who is rolester?
* i will share my dream with u guys tmr morning, and can i get a t shirt?
* which course is it? i wish i can take this course in next sem

In this amazing campaign, thanks for everyone’s support. We have been working very hard and luckily that we had so many good feedback from others. This is such a great feeling.

In the campaign, I have learned so many things with my team.

  • always prepared for the different problems. we had a lot of problems happened in this project, we can say that everyday must have one problem appeared, we tried not to be panic and face with the problems and deal with the problems. This is a learning process, we learned how to solve the problems immediately. This is a very precious experience for all of us.
  • Keep track of the timeline. As a production manager, i have responsibility to keep everyone on the right track. this is also quite important to keep track of the scheduled timeline, we did change a bit about the timeline due to some issues happened with the vending machine, but it didnt change the big part of the schedule. everything should be organised but not mess around and had no idea what to do next. I am being very proud of it and i think i did a good job in terms of the organising.
  • understand your audience. this is quite important part i have learned through this project. if we understand our audience, we can have a lot of different ideas about how to let them know about campaign. We clearly know that our audience is the university students who stay up late. Not only the posters are seeking for their interest. We tried to make some artefacts that attracts them and let them keep it around. We made the plush toy, door handle and T shirts. Those are the things that the uni students would love to have and keep it at home. and also subconsciously giving them a hint about enjoying your dream.
  • always be passionate about the campaign. we had quite a lot of problems during the process of campaign. This is quite important to cheer up every member and let them know that this is going to be a fantastic campaign. it is quite lucky that our group members are all uplifting. they didnt complain at all and keep doing their work efficiently.

Today is the second of our campaign launching in the city campus. It was a big success yesterday. We are still keep going!

Today we moved the site to outside the Bowen st. We thought there might have more people would notice about our campaign. It was a good start to set up everything on the table. our hand-made T-shirt and plush toy and also with the posters. We could say we tried to create as much attention as we can . Indeed, some people were asking for whether they can buy the T-shirt or plush toy. because they really like it. Therefore, the previous plan was denied by lucky spin from the vending machine can win the tshirt or plush toy, in the reason of we were afraid of the lack stock. and now we changed the plan that as long as the people can tell us the dream they had and we will film with talking about their dream, then they can get free either plush toy or t shirt. Have three videos about people’s dreams which are awesome outcomes!

Maybe it was over excitement about the effort from yesterday. There was lesser people outside and obviously less interaction with the student. We did figure out the reason is that this area are more for the people enters into the building, and less people exits. The location we settled down was fantastic, because there is a interaction between the building 8 and the cafeteria. There are more people flow over there. another reason is that people would feel that we are selling something, people would not easier to come closer.  From the experience of yesterday, we only sited the dream vending machine in the middle and without table. People would feel more intimacy with that. Therefore, we decide to site the dreamvending in the same place as the first day, without any table, only a dreamvending machine. that might be more efficient.

This is a character building experience, as long as we tried different ways to make it better.

Keeping the hard working for tomorrow.

First day for promoting out campaign, which was simply awesome. We have interacted with a lot of students who were passing by. We got quite a lot encouragement from them in terms of the reaction about our campaign. they just LOVE IT!  I am in charging of the sales superwoman! the responsible is to talk to the students about what is the dream vending machine about, how does it works, what is the key message about this campaign. We got quite a lot of outcomes.

However, we also got some bad feedback. they would ask what is the point of making this dream happened. there is a less people could remember their dream very clearly. We couldnt say that this is true that you cannot keep your dream longer, but i was trying to say that this is the project that we are trying to help the students to have awareness of sleeping well, enjoy your dreaming in longer time. Maybe he twisted our key message. Its totally fine that not everyone would support your campaign, but the thing is that how to keep your campaign alive and believe that this is marvellous project. YES! we are confident to say that our project is AWESOME!!

  • Proposal For vending machine companies: we have emailed a lot of vending machine companies, there are no any response back which we were pretty desperate. we tried to call them back as well and hope they will give us a specific reason why they would not interested in our project. Most of them are actually quite interested in our project, but the issue is that they are more concerned about the transportation to the campus would take a lot of time to organise. They gave us some advices to ask the RMIT vending companies, and may try to contact with them. Everything turns out to be mystery. and we need plan B for the vending machine.
  • change Vending Machine to toy vending:  We decide to change our vending machine idea to toy vending machine, it is obviously smaller than vending machine, but definitely more workable in terms of the transportation and flexible. We purchased a toy vending machine in the American Website. Everything seems to be good, However, the issue was coming suddenly one week before the first launching day. They failed to delivery the toy vending to Australia. We start to think about the Plan B, we start to search on Chinese shopping website, and finally found out a seller that he could ship the toy vending via DHL within 4 days. then the issue is sorted out:) Image

Tweet Dreams

We have faced with a problem about the lack of dream tweets. We have quite a lot promotion in terms of the Facebook interpretation and the posters. We found out that there is a such a long process of building up a campaign, and especially that sharing dreams are not a easy as sharing your receipts online. We realised that the dream is normally lasts for 10 minutes, and people would not think about our dream vending campaign after they wake up, because we still have no big influence on other people’s life. Therefore, Here is the Plan B, as we researched on the dreams online, we found out the illustrators are actually doing the similar things as we do at the moment. There are illustrating the dreams from people’s tweets. We emailed the illustrator and ask for the permission of using their illustration to help promoting our campaign. They are also quite interested in our project and happy for that we are using their works as long as providing name credit (as Ellen Beall Dubreuil) for the illustrations & maintaining the copyright. GOOD START!! ImageImage

Poster Issues

  •  We have printed out about 120 posters, we decide to post separately in a week time, the first place we have considered was HUB and building8, 10, 12. The reason we didnt concern about the Builidng 9 in a minute was that there were so many posters on the wall already and it wouldnt give enough attention to our poster, Such a waste. Therefore, we went for HUB, building 8, 10,12 and building80 first. We located most of the posters in each level lecture room, most of the students would see the posters when await for the next lecture. We get proved from Hub and stamped the posters on the event wall which was quite catching. After one day, we checked out the posters, most of them are taken off by the cleaners in the cafeteria area. the most strange thing is that we posted the poster in building 80, in each level, there is a main area for the posters, we thought this might be a good place to post, but posters are all gone. if that is a poster area, what is the matter of posting the posters?  Luckily, We found out some very good spot in building 9 can post one set in the same area. We were so happy and said that finally there is a spot for our posters. We got quite a lot positive response from it which is awesome!!
